About the $50 Million Runway Show, the Angels and more: Victoria’s Secret 2015

One of the hottest and extravagant Fashion runway shows of the year, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015 was held at the Regiment Armory, in New York on Tuesday, 10th November. With 47 models, including fresh faces, such as best friends Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid , and 10 new angels, this year the Lingerie retail brand celebrated its 20th anniversary with live performance by Selena Gomez, The Weeknd and Ellie Goulding.

Apart from its Million Dollar bejewelled fantasy bra, gorgeous angel wings ,a coterie of world’s highest earning models and all the glitz and glamour, the annual fashion event is a well known marketing strategy for the brand which constantly reinforces its positioning in the market as one of the world’s leading Lingerie retailer. According to FORBES, five of the 47 models are the highest paid models in the world, earning in millions. With bedazzled corset, multi-colour dramatic feathers, jeweled head to toe body suits, fake snakes, fishnets, butterflies, glowing angel wings, towering boots, abstract designs, snowflakes, and fringes, the show was filled with all the required exquisiteness, sexiness and high octane glamour.

The show was opened by Behati Prinsloo. She donned a colourful pair of wings and orange lingerie.

Kendall Jenner, the fashion industry’s current favourite, and one of the world’s highest paid models, estimated at $4 million, made her first appearance on the VS’s runway this year. She donned a red and blue piece featuring a graphic billowing skirt.

Another current sweetheart of the Fashion industry, Gigi Hadid walked the runway for the first time. As per Forbes, her combined earning is estimated at $2.5 million. Apart from wearing a jade green number adorned with butterflies she also wore Pink, the brand’s smaller sub-brand, which has had its own exclusive segment.


Accepting diversity, the brand allowed Angolan model Maria Borges to sport her natural cropped hair style. A good move indeed!
Super model Lily Aldridge had the fortune of wearing this year’s $2 million “Firework Fantasy Bra”, made form 6,500 precious gems of 14 different varieties all set in 18K gold, as well as 375 carats of diamonds.
To be aired in 187 countries, the recorded show will be beamed on December 8th on CBS.
