It’s that time of the year again.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion runway show is one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year. On Tuesday evening, in New York, the Lingerie brand will unveil its latest collection in front of a selected (only by invite) live audience. The recorded 20th Anniversary show will be aired on December 8 at 10 P.M. on CBS.
This year there are 10 angels and 11 first-timers, including Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, the current darlings of the fashion industry. One of the main highlights of the show is its Fantasy Bra. It’s a great honour and a dream come true for any model to be chosen to wear the dreamy Fantasy Bra. This year, that fortunate model is Lily Aldridge, who has been associated with the brand since 2010.
Titled the Firework Fantasy, the Bra is designed by jewellery designer Mouawad, and it took 685 hours to make this glamorous piece of lingerie. Priced at $2 million, the bra is encrusted with 6,500 precious gems, including diamonds, blue topaz, pink quartz and yellow sapphires set in 18-karat gold.
Created to draw attention to the brand, the exorbitant fantasy Bras are a great marketing tool for the retailer. The first Fantasy Bra was created in the year 1996 and was worn by super-model Claudia Schiffer.
