Oscars 2015: The Red Carpet Saga: Of the White, Icy Pastels, Sparkling Pearls & More



From Lady Gaga’s crystal embellished Azzedine Alaïa dress which took 25 seamstresses and 1200 hours to create, and Lupita Nyongo’s 6000 pearl adorned custom gown by  Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein, to best actress winner Julianne Moore’s hand-painted resin sequins and flowers Chanel Haute Couture dress which took 987 hours and 27 people to complete,the red carpet affair at the 87th Annual Academy Awards this year was all about embellishment, sparkling pearls, beads and of course going glamorously serene with white. White ruled the red carpet, along with red, icy pastel and black. Here are some of my picks from the red carpet of one of the highly anticipated award nights in the world of cinema.

Jennifer Lawrence again in Christian Dior (Read: déjà vu) and yet another fall at the Oscars



Well, I didn’t add her to my best dressed list. Not that she is not looking great, but for the reason that this young and gorgeous lady should move out of her comfort zone on the red carpet. There is no surprise Jennifer Lawrence opted for another Christian Dior couture gown – the brand face of the Parisian fashion house.

Pale hues, classic blues and black, and white created the color story on the Oscars Red Carpet this year. Jewel tones, shimmer and varied textures combined with diamonds and crystals oozed movie star glamour at the 86th Academy Awards night, held on March 2, 2014, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
