London Menswear Collection: Sibling Fall 2015

Pink and Punk, the Sibling Fall 2015 collection was a celebration of joy and rebellious energy of wonderful childhood days. The all pink school -boyish collection offered a variety of knitwear, including sweaters resembling cobwebs, vinyl coats embellished with the dramatic eruption of goat hair, oversized scarves, striped blazers, pink shorts and crumpled paper-bag tailored pieces.

London Menswear Fashion Week: Christopher Kane Fall 2015

Clean and simple lines meet bold patterns and 3 D Prints. In a colour palette of navy blue, black, green and grey, the fitted and fine tailored graphic collection offers knitwear, button-ups, topcoats, crewnecks, and trousers with playful cubic prints. Interesting geometric prints and patchwork embellishments is the core of this collection and offers an ideal story to the very idea of a contemporary menswear.

Though, there is much more that needs to be done, however the recent Lakme Summer Resort 2014 show proves that men’s fashion is definitely headed a new direction in India. Many designers have realised the importance of one of the fastest growing segments in India. This year Lakme Fashion Week offered the widest range of choices for today’s globe-trotting and intelligently fashion conscious Indian men – a positive step to establish India’s standing on the global menswear map. Label Spotlight: “Lacquer Embassy” by Nikhil Sharma: Dandy-esque & Effortless

A graduate from NIFT and a Masters in Design from Nottingham Trent University in the UK, New Delhi based designer-cum-stylist-cum-trend consultant, Nikhil Sharma’s men’s wear label “Lacquer Embassy” combines classic influences with modern culture, focusing heavily on attention to detail and minimalist silhouettes. In a country where ‘contemporary aesthetics’ of menswear are still at its nascent stage, Nikhil’s label is definitely one of those few brands that helps fill the void, a label that complements the essence of today’s modern dandy.

In this series of articles I focus a little more on the details of a good suit. I have decided to make this a series as I feel one that one comprehensive article might be rather lengthy and could probably result in an overload of information. The Suit

The suit is considered by many to be an essential part of a gentleman’s wardrobe.  I, however, disagree. In my opinion a suit is ‘the’ gentleman. A man’s suit and the way he wears it tells you a lot about the individual. It is the defining garment that separates the men from the boys. However there are suits and then there are suits. And thus the question arises – what makes a suit a suit? One word sums it up – the fit.
