Carolina Herrera Fall Winter 2015 : Fluid Elegance : New York Fashion Week



Taking ocean as an inspiration the collection was a wave of fluid ruffled hemlines, water bubble prints, and coral like sequins and more, all integrated with an effortless futuristic edge. An eclectic mix of day and evening wear, the standouts included beautiful mini shift dresses, trousers, jersey jackets, boxy tops, sequined dresses, embroidered tulle skirts, and organza gowns, in a sophisticated colour palette of greys, blues, indigo and gorgeous crimson red.

Reem Acra Fall Winter 2015/16: A Bohemian Gypsy: New York Fashion Week



The ethereal collection featured a range of beaded short dresses, embroidered jackets, skirts and dreamy lace gowns in a colour palette of blush, grey, red and gorgeous maroon. Keeping it excess, the designer played with her signature design aesthetics. Intricate embroidery and jewelled surfaces of crystals and beads, including lace, velvet, tulle and feathers had a strong reference to Victorian and Baroque aesthetics.

Victoria Beckham Fall Winter 2015 : Unapologetic & Confident:New York Fashion Week



The former spice girl and designer, Victoria Beckham presented a sleek, ultra modern and stylish collection for fall winter 2015. Known for her minimalist design aesthetics, the latest collection's sharp strong cuts and slim lines juxtaposed with oversized and boxy pieces. The colour palette of grey, orange, midnight blue and of course staple black and white, complemented the essence of the collection.

The Fall Winter 2015 Altuzarra woman is strong yet feminine, contemporary yet old school. Keeping it sexy, the designer presented an array of pieces ranging from thigh high slits worn with knee high boots and high-neck Edwardian lace dresses to tailored coats with Prince of Wales checks. The interplay of textures in the form of leather skirts, Fox fur collars, and shearlings had an element of hard-edged elegance to it. With ruffled trim on the pockets and lightweight shimmery beaded evening dresses, the collection is playfully relaxed yet seductive.

Kanye West X Adidas Originals: Did Kanye crack the Pavement? New York Fashion Week 2015

 


After being criticised for his previous design debacle in Paris back in 2012, Kanye West’s latest collaboration with sportswear giant Adidas was one of the most anticipated show at the NYFW15. For the show the musician played a soundtrack saying, “I’m here to crack the pavement and make new ground. There is a lack of creativity in every field, people are afraid to create”. Hmmmmm....... The question is, did he really manage to crack the pavement? Was he able to create something exceptionally new? Was it an awesome collection?
