Futuristic yet retro, Raf Simons, created the collection by romancing the past and bringing in the new. With a hint of 50s ladylike glamour, 60s mod and 70s liberation, the collection offered a subtle futuristic edge. Vibrant spring colours married the elegance of Dior’s architectural full skirted skirts and 60’s A Line dresses. Graphic psychedelic knit bodysuits and interplay of the ribbon strip pleats on the skirts along with transparent plastic rain coats, printed with floral busy branches worn over shifts were bold and beautiful. Layer and layer of Guipure lace and sequins created that graceful romantic moment.

‘Dior New Couture’ by Patrick Demachelier (A Must Have)

The iconic French Fashion house ‘Christian Dior’ launched its latest book titled ‘Dior New Couture’ by PatrickDemachelier. The book, published by Rizzoli, features hundreds of beautiful photos of the designs shot by renowned French photographer Patrick Demarchelier . The book is an elegant and a visual journey of the fashion house’s memorable history and its timeless creations, its essence of old and the new, featuring designs that date back to Christian Dior’s iconic new look to current Haute Couture creations of Raf Simons.

Did Dior (Pre-Fall 2015) copy it from Atto Resort 2014 collection?

Is this resemblance a coincidence or straight-up copy, or a standard industry practice now? Raf Simons presented his Dior Pre-Fall 2015 collection yesterday in Tokyo, Japan. What really caught my attention were the sequined turtleneck pieces, which were the exact copy of the ones from Atto Resort 2014 collection. Intentional or unintentional, the striking resemblance naturally raises few questions :-)

Unflattering!!! Marion Cotillard wore a strapless Christian Dior dress at the premiere of ‘L’Homme Qu’On Aimait Trop’ during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival. The pleated dress looks overwhelming on Marion’s frame. And the colour of the dress also does not complement her skin tone.

Oh boy, this is horrendous!!!  Disaster!!! Marion Cotillard wore a Christian Dior’s Spring 2014 Couture dress at the premiere of ‘Two Days, One Night’ at the 67^th Annual Cannes Film Festival. Is that some kind of creepy bug or a bumble bee on the red carpet? A school costume drama? And what’s with those ugly pair of shoes? Sack the stylist. Hideous!!! An insult to glamour of Cannes Red Carpet.

Day 5 : Suki Waterhouse in Dior : Cannes 2014 : Red Carpet

Boring and untidy!!! Suki Waterhouse wore a tiered strapless Christian Dior gown at the premiere of ‘The Homesman’ at the 67^th Cannes Film Festival. I don’t think she did justice to the gown. Even the colour of the gown does not complement her skin tone. Something just so untidy about the entire look. Thumbs down!!!

Well, I didn’t add her to my best dressed list. Not that she is not looking great, but for the reason that this young and gorgeous lady should move out of her comfort zone on the red carpet. There is no surprise Jennifer Lawrence opted for another Christian Dior couture gown – the brand face of the Parisian fashion house.

Raf challenged himself by presenting a modern collection that was inspired by the very nature of the multicultural world that we live in, beyond its French and Parisian chic boundary. The collection focussed on Europe, the Americas, Asia (the Chinese buyer for sure) and Africa.
