Rahul Mishra A/W 15 : "The Village" : A poetry: Of the Humans and nature :Paris Fashion Week


One of the India’s finest fashion exports and a genius, Rahul Mishra showcased his Fall Winter 2015/16 collection on the last day of Paris Fashion Week. True to his philosophy based on sustainability, the latest offering, titled “The Village” was an alluring poetry- of the past, where humans and nature coexisted in a harmonious and peaceful environment. The collection was a narrative of the people, the process and the craft.

In a bold and youthful colour palette of yellow, blue, red, brown, orange and black, the collection offered mix and match pieces featuring leopard prints, checks, houndstooth, python, croc and more.

Givenchy Fall Winter 2015 : Fascinatingly Dark:Paris Fashion Week


Inspired by the aggressive facial piercing,sharp penciled eyebrows and curled hair style of the Latin street gangs Chola, and his personal obsession with everything Victorian since childhood,Ricardo Tisci presented a collection which was a narration of his love for a world filled with black, where edginess of Goth blends with the eccentricity of the street culture. The “Victorian-Chola Girl” of Tisci is fiercely Goth in her tailored and ornate pieces.

Gender liberated! Named “UNISEX”, the collection broke all the barriers of gender specific clothing. With men in miniskirts, dresses corset and even ball gown and women in trousers and strong shouldered oversized jackets, Vivienne created a collection that explicitly defied all the rules of gender specific clothing. Tortured tailoring and deconstructed silhouette, along with drapes and fringes were very much the designer’s signature design aesthetics.

Titled “Victorian-chola girl”, the Givenchy Fall Winter 2015 runway show was mesmerizingly arresting with its face jewelry, nude make up, curls and braid hair style. The faces embellished with gems and combined with large nose rings and ear pieces had a Goth-chic-vibe to it. Love!

Balmain Fall Winter 2015 : Celebrating Self Expression :Paris Fashion Week

Balmain channelled the high octane glamour of the 70’s, which saw the models donning high-waist palazzos, sharp cut jackets, including ruffled , lace, striped , beaded fringe and satin numbers. With a seductively vibrant colour palette of fuchsia, orange, violet, green, pink, red and blue, almost all the pieces were colour blocked, balanced by the fluid yet structured beauty of the silhouette.

Yes, the drama is back. The master of runway drama and grandeur, John Galliano presented his first RTW collection for Maiosn Margiela at the ongoing Paris Fashion Week. For the show, Galliano painted the face of his models with baby doll, clown-esque bold makeup. The bright neon lip colour and daring eye makeup added the long missed, much needed runway drama. Spectacularly Galliano! Finally, the fashion exile is over.

Quirky Chic at its best! John Galliano injected the Parisian runway with his signature drama by sending hunchback models during Maison Margiela Fall Winter 2015 show at the Paris Fashion Week. With clown like colourful makeup, wild and disheveled hair and creepy facial expressions, the looks were quite intriguing and disturbingly beautiful. Love!

Anrealage Fall Winter 2015: Light & Dark : Paris Fashion Week 2015


Keeping light and dark as the two main protagonists of the collection,Kunihiko Morinagathe, the creative director of the Japanese label Anrealage played with optical illusions, extravagant cuts, sculptural silhouette, heavy shapes all combined with an unconventional fabric story fuelled by experimental streak.

Manish Arora Fall Winter 2015: Pop Warrior Princess :Paris Fashion Week



Manish Arora captured the essence of a warrior princess living in a psychedelic world armed with hallucinating colours, quirky owls and skull accessories. The overtly dramatic yet wearable collection offered a bold range of colourful separates like ornate blazers, tops and skirts , a rich fabric story, drapes ,asymmetric cuts, busy prints, interesting textures, checks and intricate Indian embroidery, including the humorous “Winter is Coming” embroidery embossed on some of the pieces.
