Altuzarra FW 2015: "Hard Edged Elegance": But, with a deep sense of Déjà Vu : New York Fashion Week

The Fall Winter 2015 Altuzarra woman is strong yet feminine, contemporary yet old school. Keeping it sexy, the designer presented an array of pieces ranging from thigh high slits worn with knee high boots and high-neck Edwardian lace dresses to tailored coats with Prince of Wales checks. The interplay of textures in the form of leather skirts, Fox fur collars, and shearlings had an element of hard-edged elegance to it. With ruffled trim on the pockets and lightweight shimmery beaded evening dresses, the collection is playfully relaxed yet seductive.

The accessories, especially the shoe story of the collection was definitely lust worthy. Thigh High boots and booties had a strong reference to steam punk -elegantly tough.

But, on a different note, the collection had its share of “oh,i have seen it before moment too”, for instance the Fox Fur Collar had an uncanny resemblance to Tom Ford’s Gucci collection. Whether it was an inspiration or a rip off, i keep it  open for a dialogue.
