Inspired by the divine tree in Hindu mythology,
the collection was titled “Kalpavriksha”, where the simplicity of Khadi married
the artistic intricacy of Dhaka’s Jamdani and softness of Luknow’s Chikankari, beauty
of Punjab’s Phulkari and exclusiveness of Andhra Pardesh’s Kalamkari.
Reminiscent
of the old world India, the traditional weaved pieces offered, motifs of- birds
and tiger, leaves, and florals that celebrated the essence of the nature and its
various shades. Key pieces were the cholis with Phulkari, voluminous anarkalis,
kurtas, sarees and lehengas, all in vibrant hues, the beauty of which was
further accentuated with varied drapes and layers.
