First Look of Dior Short Film: 'Secret Garden 2 – Versailles’

I believe most of you remember Dior’s short film from last year titled ‘Secret Garden’. After the mega success of their film last year which boasts of 24 million views on You Tube, Dior is all set to release the second installment of their famed short film titled 'Secret Garden 2 – Versailles’.

Under the direction of fashion photography duo Inez van Lamesweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the film again ropes in super model Daria Strokous and is shot in a forest at Versailles, near a small chateau, The Petit Tranon.

The two images, released from the campaign look romantically mystical yet surreal. One image features a model in a classical ballet form up in the tree, furniture and gold chandelier suspended from branches surrounded by mist.

The other image takes inspiration from Édouard Manet’s famous painting “The Luncheon on the Grass”. Minus the nudity as in the painting, the models are dressed in the fall Dior collection by Raf Simons, and the picnic basket filled with fruit in the painting is replaced with Diorissimo handbags, in addition to a basket of fruit.

The still images are going to debut in Vogue China followed by Italian Elle and French Vogue. The short film is expected to be released in June on Dior.com and the Diormag Website.
