Chanel creates a Chic Parisian Café on the runway- “Brasserie Gabrielle”: Paris Fashion Week 2015

Fashion shows are not only about the clothes, it is also about the mood, the ambiance and the surrounding. A runway set, with a strong visual theme, props and lighting allow the designers to convey their inspiration or ideas behind the collection with ease. A great and at times dramatic runway set, relevant to the collection, not only enhances the visual experience of the audience but also transport them to another world.

The industry’s undisputed leader, Karl Lagerfeld knows it very well and that is the reason Chanel’s state of the art, magnificent runway sets are always the highlight of all his collection shows. For his Fall Winter 2015/16 collection show, the master of grandeur Karl Lagerfeld converted the Grand Palais into a Parisian Cafe, the Brasserie Gabrielle.

The super stylish Parisian cafe, named after Gabrielle Coco Chanel, brought high octane Parisian glamour to the runway. With Garcons wearing bow-tie and aprons and waiting at the table, and the models looking like a group of elegant French women in Chanel pieces, including the dinner plate inspired “CC” embossed bags, perched on chairs around tables covered with white tablecloth and navigating through the “CC” menu, drinking coffee, and some even sat at the bar counter sipping drinks, the runway show was truly an effortless celebration of everything that is classically Chanel.
