Balmain Fall Winter 2013 - East & West

Fusion of eastern and western aesthetics with a strong Asian essence, intricate detailing that can be compared to couture, loose silhouette and extravagant – this in Balmain Fall 2013 Menswear for you. Olivier Rousteing’s latest offering was created keeping Asian market or to be more precise Asian young men into consideration as they are the ones investing in the pieces thus promoting the brand.

Drop crotch pants with over-sized pleats, passementerie details on a fur trimmed black hooded parka, gilded jacket, biker leathers in a new avatar of loose silhouette and wrapped around in martial art belts or thick embroidered obis, kimono tops, tuxedo jackets with intricate dragon bead work and leather skinny pants with quilted knees were some of the key pieces and features of this excellent collection. For me the gilded leather jacket crafted from wood beads with gold piping was one of the standout pieces of this latest offering from Balmain that redefines men’s high fashion.
