The Hermès Horse Exhibition Comes to Mumbai, India

Founded in the year 1837, the Parisian luxury brand Hermès first started off as a harness-maker for the carriage trade. So, it does not come as a surprise when the brand decided to curate an exhibition solely dedicated to its first client – The Horse.

The Hermès Horse Exhibition was first showcased in Shanghai, China to celebrate the opening of the brand’s new store and also to honour the year of the Horse, as per the Chinese zodiac calendar. The one of a kind, much acclaimed exhibition now visits India, at the Hermès flagship store in Mumbai and was inaugurated on October 31st and will run through the month of November.

The curator of the exhibition, Phillippe Dumas, who is an artist and member of the fifth generation of the Hermès family, has infused a playful essence to the spirit of the brand. With this exhibition, Dumas effortlessly captures the elegance and free-spirit nature of the noble animal – The Horse. The exhibition wonderfully showcases how the iconic brand beautifully treasures its historic past by embracing distinct cross cultural and contemporary characteristics.
