Bollywood’s
most awaited red carpet event, the 59th Filmfare awards were held at
the Yash Raj studios in Mumbai on 24th Jan 2014. The A-Lister event
was flooded with some daring, experimental and uber-gorgeous red carpet style
moments. The Bollywood fashionistas ensured that there was no dearth of glitz
and glamour on the red carpet.
Priyanka Chopra looked super – stunning and very movie star in an off-shoulder, gold embroidered peplum gown from Alexander McQueen. The black column gown fits her like a glove – a WOWSER!!!
The
best actress award winner, Deepika Padukone sizzled and glittered on the red
carpet in a daring Gaurav Gupta Couture sheer gown. This is same gown that Lady
Victoria Harvey wore at the 71st Golden Globe Awards (see here), however
Deepika’s gown was modified with adequate coverage. This is not a kind of gown
that everyone can carry. The statuesque beauty makes it work.
Vaani
Kapoor set the mercury level rising on the red carpet in a Nikhil Thampi gown. Again,
this is one gown that not many can carry. The daring cut out purple gown, thigh
high slit and bare back, perfectly complimented Vaani’s stunning figure.
Tamannah’s Red Gauri and
Nainika gown was simple yet classy; while Sophie Choudry’s red BCBG strapless
gown was simply fabulous.
