Manish
Arora’s Indian bride dares to challenge the convention of bridal wear and celebrates
her hidden colourful quirkiness with aplomb. Titled’ Indian’, the collection
was an amalgamation of baroque, kitch imagery, motifs from Buddhist monasteries,
ethnic Indian craftsmanship and fabric in
Manish’s bold and bright signature
colour palette of gold, silver, fuchsia, blues, tangerine, yellow, oranges and
mint green to name a few.
The
collection ranged from lycra/net crop blouses, sequined full skirted lehengas ,kurtas,
churidaars, coat, anarkalis, boxy tops and of course sarees woven in a fabric story
of georgettes, Varanasi silk, chiffons, crepes and holographic leather.
Styled
by Gautam Kalra, models wore ornate face masks, neon naths, maang tikas and
dramatic headgears, that firmly established Manish’s unconventional fashion sensibility.
