Futuristic yet retro, Raf Simons, created the collection by romancing the past and bringing in the new. With a hint of 50s ladylike glamour, 60s mod and 70s liberation, the collection offered a subtle futuristic edge. Vibrant spring colours married the elegance of Dior’s architectural full skirted skirts and 60’s A Line dresses. Graphic psychedelic knit bodysuits and interplay of the ribbon strip pleats on the skirts along with transparent plastic rain coats, printed with floral busy branches worn over shifts were bold and beautiful. Layer and layer of Guipure lace and sequins created that graceful romantic moment.

In a colour palette of royal blue, red, white and black the form fitted curvaceous collection offered embroidered mini dresses, evening pieces and flared jumpsuits, minus any straight lines.

And, not everyone could have carried this gown with so much of perfection as Lupita did. The plunging neckline and the fuller skirt of the gown created a striking drama on the red carpet. Pat McGrath’s magical makeup for Givenchy Fall Winter 2015 :Paris Menswear Fashion Week

I am still in awe of the looks created by makeup artist Pat McGrath for Ricardo Tisci’s Givenchy Fall winter 2015 runway show during yesterday’s Paris Menswear Fashion Week .There was something very dark yet beautiful about the looks. Models wore different looks- from lips clamped by metal stitch and dramatic smoky eyes topped with green glitter and Bordeaux red lip colour to spooky Zombi-esque face makeup; it was a spectacle and one of the best that we have seen in runway makeup in the recent times. But the breathtaking look of the show was the bedazzled face mask created by McGrath using sequins, coins and seashells suspended on strings. It took 8 hours for her to create this piece of beauty.

Style spotting: Michelle Obama lands in India wearing Indian-American designer Bibhu Mohapatra–Indo-American Style Diplomacy

First Lady and style icon, Michelle Obama, who is in India on a 3 day visit with her husband President Barack Obama landed in New Delhi today. And, as expected, as soon as she landed in India, Mrs. Obama raised the style quotient by wearing an Indian-American designer. Michelle looked absolutely fabulous and sharp wearing a geometric-floral motif knee length dress designed by Bibhu Mohapatra for his Spring 2015 collection. She completed the look with a complementing cape and a pair of black pump. This is not the first time that Michelle has worn Bibhu. She has worn another outfit by the designer while appearing on Jay Leno’s TV show. Mr. Mohapatra, who is based in New York, was born and raised in Rourkela in Odisha.
