15 of Miley Cyrus’ demure to saucy Fashion Moments – 2013

Someone recently asked me – when it comes to style, who do i think owned the year 2013? For me, undoubtedly it is one and only Miley Cyrus who rocked the year with her demure to highly provocative wardrobe choice. Miley reinvented herself from a former child star of Disney’s Hannah Montana into a Billboard’s best selling artist. But, the year 2013 is also going to be known for her attention grabbing, scandalous style transformation that shocked all of us. Ms. Cyrus’ celebration of her sexuality through her choice of clothes-and at times no clothes, her saucy new image and attitude raised lot of questions about her transformation.

Amidst all the confusion, admiration, amusement and anticipation (what’s next moment), Miley was unstoppable – be it her unexpected twerking performance at the VMA in a nude bikini, raunchy act with Santa Clause at the KIIS FM's Jingle Ball in LA or being elegance personified in a dazzling Marc Jacobs gown at the Night of Stars gala, the girl was one of the most-watched celebrity on the planet.

45 Fashion Moments of 2013

2013!!! It was a year of new jobs and departures, joy and tragedy and much more. The year saw some noteworthy changes and decisions being taken like  departure of Marc Jacobs from Louis Vuitton, after 16 years at the helm , Angela Ahrendts’ decision to leave Burberry to Join Apple and Rick Owens celebrating racial and body diversity at his Spring 2014 runway show, just to name a few - changed the face of fashion world.

The year also raised a big question. The heart wrenching tragedy of Bangladesh’s Rana Plaza made the fashion world sit up, introspect and question about the hazardous working conditions of the garment factory workers. On a positive note the incidence also raised an alarm thus triggering an action to improve factory safety in the garment industry. Many retailers like H&M and Zara signed worker safety pledges.

13 Sonam Kapoor’s Top 2013 Style Moments

Fashionista and actor Sonam Kapoor is undisputedly one of my favourites from this year’s best dressed list. With her contemporary yet classic approach to style, the girl truly lives up to the tag of ‘Fashionista’. Unlike most of her contemporaries, experimental  yet impeccably dressed Ms. Kapoor is not pigeonholed in one style track and that is what makes her India’s well known face on the global platform. No wonder she is regularly seen gracing the front row at the fashion weeks.

Best known for his cutting edge design, signature drapes and unique approach to cut, silhouette and fabric, the talented designer, Gaurav Gupta presented his bridal collection titled “LightFall” at the India Bridal Week in Mumbai. Aptly named “LightFall”, it is the luminescence of every garment - the light behind, over and within every process of creation that inspires the designer for this collection. As expected from Gaurav, the collection does not fall into the conventions of bridal wear but encourages today’s brides to push the boundaries and celebrate her uniqueness, thus creating a strong style statement.
