‘From Eden to Paradise’ by Jatin Varma – Autumn/Winter 2013-14, Lakme Fashion Week

Titled ‘From Eden to Paradise’, the Autumn/Winter 2013-14 collection by Jatin Varma was inspired by Biblical Garden of Eden. The designer took us to a journey of his dreamy paradise with a color story of Red, Purple, Pink and Cobalt Blue.

The gowns created from nylon mesh were further accented with detailed crochet binding, peplum and sheer trails. Symbolizing the transition of the quaint Garden of Eden from plain to the strong and sensual Paradise, the gown bodices with bows, tassels, spirals, fringes and embellishments,mimicked the vision of an intricately intertwined forest. Black nylon mesh head gears added the required drama of sartorial elegance.

The well crafted structured pieces with transparency being one of the highlights, Jatin presented a collection that is strong, beautifully sensual and has the soft fluidity of romanticism. In coming days some of these gowns are definitely going to transition from the runway to the glitz of the red carpet.
