Sarees are no more about those heavy zari work, sequins, overdose of bling,
never ending drapes and large borders. With the change in time, the idea of
a Sarees too has changed. 2014 was a fabulous year for Saree styles, and some of
the looks, because of its modern yet traditional draping style, were definitely
ground-breaking in its own way- a year when simplicity married elegance. While
traditionalists might not agree with all the looks, however personally i believe
fashion is also about breaking the norms, believing in individual style and having
fun.

Vaishali S's A/W'13 at WIFW (Magical Assam)
Mekhela Chadar (Assamese: মেখেলা চাদৰ), the traditional attire of the Assamese women was the inspiration
for Vaishali S’s Autumn Winter’13 collection at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion
Week. She recreated the magic and beauty of traditional Assamese muga silk, pat
and intricate hand woven ornamental design with a contemporary twist, thus
bringing the region’s rich and exotic textile design story to the mainstream of
Indian fashion.
