13 Sonam Kapoor’s Top 2013 Style Moments

Fashionista and actor Sonam Kapoor is undisputedly one of my favourites from this year’s best dressed list. With her contemporary yet classic approach to style, the girl truly lives up to the tag of ‘Fashionista’. Unlike most of her contemporaries, experimental  yet impeccably dressed Ms. Kapoor is not pigeonholed in one style track and that is what makes her India’s well known face on the global platform. No wonder she is regularly seen gracing the front row at the fashion weeks.

Here are the top 13 most talked about fashion moments of Sonam from the year 2013. What do you have to say folks?

Perfection!!! Sonam looked stunning in an Alexander McQueen Pre Fall 2013 gown at the Vogue Beauty Awards 2013. The gold embroidered details on the shoulder and the neckline added the required regal drama on the red carpet.

Sonam Kapoor attended the premiere of ‘Jeune & Jolie’ on Day 2 at the 66^th Festival de Cannes in a big rose printed voluminous strapless Dolce & Gabbana couture gown. She accessorised the look with a necklace from Sunita Kapoor Jewels and a pair of floral pump that complimented the gown. This was definitely Sonam’s red carpet moment.

Sonam Kapoor’s red carpet appearance in an Indian avatar at ‘The Great Gatsby’ premiere at the 66^th Festival de Cannes. Sonam opted for an exquisite white lace Anamika Khanna saree and teamed it with a long detailed gold embroidery jacket- featuring ethnic Indian craftsmanship. However, fashion gurus were not too pleased with her big nose ring (nathni).

Sonam was at her fierce best in this Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2013 couture piece at the GQ ‘Men Of The Year’ Awards ceremony. This was indeed a big risk taken by Ms.Kapoor considering the overwhelming characteristic of the gown. Not everyone can pull off this look with so much of ease and diva-like-confidence the way Sonam did. She simply owned the look.

For the gala screening of ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, Sonam wore a beautiful Barbara Casasola Fall 2013 color block full sleeve gown. She looked fabulous in this simple yet elegant piece. Angular color block story of the gown added a subtle drama to her over all look.

The fashionista again nailed it in a black cross trap Elie Saab Pre Fall 2013 gown at the Hindustan Times Style Awards 2013. Gold waist belt and ear cuffs by Valliyan by Nitya perfectly complemented the strong feminine essence of the gown.

At the launch of Indian version of TV series’24’, Sonam wore a Victoria Beckham Fall 2012 dress. The event apt military inspired dress was perfectly complemented by a pair of bootie and her slick hair-do.

Ms. Kapoor looked elegant in a purple Dolce & Gabbana lace gown at the 40^th India Gem and Jewellery Awards. The statement ruby and pearl gold necklace was a perfect add on. Beautiful!!!

She looked regal in a dreamy cape like sleeve Shehla Khan gown at the Ambani’s annual bash 2013. Judith Leiber minaudiere completed the look.

And, here Sonam scores double whammy. She was featured not just one but two cover pages of Vogue India June’13 special issues, featuring two facets of her style personality. In one of the cover she is in a red voluminous Alexander McQueen organza floral couture gown accessorised with a pair of Dolce & Gabbana earrings. While for the other cover image she goes bold in a silk bodysuit by Victor & Rolf paired with a Chanel pump and accessorised with Nirav Modi diamonds.
