‘The Two Tee Shirts’, yes, that was the title of the Spring Summer 2014
collection offered by Yogesh Chaudhary for his label ‘Surendri’ at the WIFW, New
Delhi. The essence of the collection was inspired from The Tee Shirt, easily
the most popular clothing item in the world of sports and street fashion
consumerism globally. With his finesse in channelling the element of clean ‘Line’,
Yogesh succeeded in sending a message that the Tee shirt has more to it rather
than a medium of under dressing.
In a colour palette of fuchsia, mint green, blue, canary yellow and even
monochrome, the collection offered pieces ranging from swimsuit with cut/ print
details and printed cropped jacket paired with a fleece track pant to heather
evening dresses and embellished printed sari.
The vibrant sporty chic collection offers smart cut-outs, argyle prints,
ribbed detailing, sheer panelling, reflective embellishments and metallic zippers
along with interesting acrylic accessories, thus celebrating the style spirit
of a contemporary woman.
