Euro Crunch, Financial Crisis ? Well, there is no denying that the global
market is definitely going through a phase of gloom however the on going
Milan Fashion Week is definitely bringing in a positive message of hope and
bright days ahead. Look at Salvatore Ferragamo's vibrant and colourful
collection for Spring 2013. The collection is energetic, youthful and
refreshing. It looked like as if the entire runaway was painted with vibrant
colours of life and the beautiful world that we live in.
With an explosion of colours like - spearmint, fluorescent pink, turquoise,
mint, blue, orange, yellow, red and greens the designer, Massimiliano
Giornetti took his inspiration from the work of English Painter David Hockney &
L.A's pop art culture in the seventies.
The 70’s silhouette with its light tailored clothing added a new dimension
to an urban men's fashion. Each and every look was accessorised with tri
colour athletic shoes which injected a sporty feeling to the collection. Some
of the key pieces of the collection were - light weight cotton blazers, sheer
knits, long light coat, carrot pants, orange rain coat & double sided
cotton trenches - all in abundance of colour and spirit of Spring/Summer.
By the end of the show, bright colours were gradually withdrawn and one
could see white line up of suits some with touch of colour at the collars, pockets, hems
and lapels giving an interesting twist to the collection.
No wonder why Massimiliano Giornetti called his collection - "Vitamins”.
i call it colour therapy :)
