At the tender age of 4,
Agi drew a range of clothing collection titled “The Coolman Collection”. And he
discovered these drawings while visiting his home in Yorkshire, resulting in sparking
inspiration for Agi and Sam’s Fall 2015 collection. The collection challenged the
inhibitions and the restrictions of an adult life. To rekindle the essence of childhood
days, the designer duos got original by involving primary school students to sketch
out the pieces for their collection. Their idea was to understand how children
see clothes, and how they can change adult’s perceptions which are always blinded
by too many complicated thought processes.
With their signature colourful
prints, patchworks, colour blocking and geometry, the collection offered pieces
ranging from inside out tailored jackets and wide trousers to knit wears and boxy
– deconstructed coats. Some of the models wore interesting yet little eerie
masks made of Lego, thus injecting the playful vibes of a carefree childhood. The collection encourages the adult to bring back the spunk of his childhood
creativity and carefree nature and have fun with his life- and there is no
better way to do this than his wardrobe.
