The wait is over. John Galliano to present his ‘Artisinal’ Haute Couture collection on Jan 12, 2015

And this is the news all Galliano lovers were waiting for, a reason to smile, the news that made my day. The recently appointed creative director of Maison Martin Margiela, John Galliano will present his first ‘Artisinal ‘Haute-Couture collection in London on January, 12, 2015. Later in the month, the collection would also be presented ‘only by appointment’ during Paris couture week (Jan. 25 to 31).

This is going to be a mega comeback for the supremely talented designer, almost four years after he was dismissed by Christian Dior and his eponymous fashion house, after being video -recorded for making racist and anti-Semitic remarks in a Paris bar in his drunken state.

It has been a long and slow process of comeback for Mr.Galliano. Earlier this month, at the prestigious British Fashion Awards, John presented the Outstanding Achievement Award to Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue, and artistic director for Condé Nast. Anna has been a stalwart supporter of Gallaino and we all know she has an important role to play in his comeback. Exhibiting her strong support for the designer, Anna also wore a Margiela by John Galliano design to the award ceremony. This in itself was a strong indication of Mr. Galliano’s arrival in the mainstream world of fashion.
