Go Floral & Blue
– Yes that is the first impression that I got after looking at Erdem’s ladylike
silhouette for Resort 2013. The collection with its heavy & geometric
floral prints, kept the Erdem’s signature style intact. The main color palette
of the collection used by Designer Erdem Moralioglu was blue, which was placed
in contrast with neon pink, magentas and white.
For Erdem, the
hexagonal patch work heavy collection was an inspiration from Amish
craftsmanship (needlework, knitting & sewing). The designer mentioned that
he would prefer referring his collection as ‘ Amish Couture’ as their was a human
hand to it. The classic lines of the collection had a strong essence of 60’s
fashion. High necked blouses (with lace),cocktail dresses, full cut &
printed skirts, shift dresses, trousers in silk, crepe , cotton &
georgette completed the classic yet modern collection. Addition of
swimwear with fifties hint to the collection was indeed a welcoming change and
made the collection an interpretation of new feminine confidence.(Photo by Boo
