The
vintage details, the craftsmanship, the aesthetics, the styling and the fantasy
backdrop of a jungle set – what not to love in this exquisite and magnificent couture
collection by Anamika Khanna at the PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2013.
High
on rich history of Indian craftsmanship and embroidery (that resembled lace),
zardosi and chikankari, divine layering and draping, the collection offered an
array of pieces ranging from sarees, capes, floor sweeping jackets, shararas, bandhgalas,
silk dhoti pants, gilets, jodhpurs, coats, skirts inspired by Maharashtrian sarees
and embroidered (resembling lace) blouses in an unconventional and subtle colour palette of off whites, light red, gold, dull silver, blue,
purple, greys, yellow and green.
As
for the styling, Anamika opted for traditional maang –tika, even metallic Mohawk,
metallic belt (hottest trend),ear cuffs and tribal neckpieces, designed by
Suhani Pittie.
Anamika
Khanna gives us yet another reason to celebrate the intricate and beautiful art
of Indian Couture in her latest offering. Truly outstanding!!!
