Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013, one of the biggest fashion extravaganzas in
the country will start tomorrow and will continue till 27th August,
2013 in Mumbai. The five day fashion week will celebrate and explore the work
of both upcoming and veteran designers.
Ahead
of all the curiosity, excitement, media frenzy and the expectations, Stylefluid
Trendz approached few designers to know, “Who is the kind of woman/man, do
they identify with for their yet to be presented collection?”
Here
is what these talented designers have to say:
Huemn by Pranav Mishra and Shyma Shetty : The 'HUEMN' look for
Autumn/Winter ’13 is a tribute to the sophisticated single woman. The
in-your-face femininity of the previous seasons has evolved into a renewed
fascination for masculine looks. Androgynous styling morphs into an ambiguous
contrast within texture, craftsmanship and color where the trouser and the
skirt both hold equal fascination and an obvious sexuality is not the woman’s
weapon of choice.
Nishka Lulla: A woman who is as comfortable in the company of others as she is on her own
- by herself. She is not dressing up to impress others. She is dressing up to
add an honest dimension to her own self.
Shruti Sancheti: My muse is the
average Indian woman who is fiercely proud of her unsurpassed legacy of
textiles and crafts, one who is not dictated by trends and believes in
restrained opulence and understated luxury of weaves and hand looms. A woman
who wears a bit of her culture on her sleeves and flaunts her heritage with élan.
Troy Costa: The 'TROY COSTA' man is one who likes to behave with good
manners & dress well , strong yet sensitive , classic but not too formal ,
he’s a man who wishes to be classless & stylish but with substance . After all,
"WHY DRESS DOWN, WHEN YOU CAN DRESS UP!
Siddharth Arya: I do believe that the ideal ‘Sidharta Aryan’ Woman is one with
character and charisma. Who enjoys her life and takes making the most of every
moment very seriously! Through my work, I strive to break
the conformist ways in which the Indian woman is globally perceived today. The
Sidharta Aryan woman is fearless and definitely a Fashion Leader.
